12.11.2012, ARISTOTEL at the ASME IMECE 2012

Houston, Texas, November 9-15, 2012

The Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI) participated in the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition organised by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in Houston Texas on November 9-15, 2012.

The main objective of POLIMI's work presented at the ASME IMECE 2012 was the identification of possible span of inter-subject variability for BioDynamic FeedThrough by adopting a physically sound numerical approach.

A detailed multibody model of a helicopter pilot right arm is built and used to estimate the arm impedance. Torque-less activation modes for the arm muscles are individuated and their effect on arm equivalent stiffness and damping is framed.

POLIMI's presentation "Upper limb mechanical impedance variability estimation by inverse dynamics and torque-less activation modes" can be sent on request. Please contact Mrs Nina Lind at Eurice
